Powerful Profitable Conversations
Since conversations consume so much of our time, it’s worth trying to improve them. The leader’s perception of how a conversation has gone can be quite different from others who are also in the conversation.
Listed below are a few key great questions that help to evaluate if a conversation has gone well:
- Are we staying on topic?
- Is everyone participating in the conversation and contributing to decision-making?
- Are we addressing the most important issues in our conversation?
- Are we committed and follow through on our decisions?
If the answer to any or all of these questions is no, then follow the link to the Reflection Exercise which you can use, following a one to one or group conversation. This exercise will help you identify specifically where you influenced the outcome of the conversation through your contribution.
At the Houston Exchange, we can help you improve the quality of your conversations using Dialogue Practices.
